Shortly after pouring the last shot down his throat he fell sideways off the stool and into a corner of the dark and grubby pub, people saw him fall but no one came to his aid.

He lay there on the cold floor, barely able to focus on the small legs of the bar stool or the cigarette butts that surrounded him. He was lying amongst all the small spills of beer and the discarded wrappers that were in that corner with him on the floor.

He sobbed. He was in despair, and his shoulders heaved, he was at the very bottom of his world.
